An ornate and very attractive silver candlestick with detachable sconce made in Sheffield by William Allanson and hallmarked in 1851. With scalloped and spreading shaped circular base, chasing and repousse work with rocaille patterns and vines on a fluted stems and a leaf-wrapped flower-form sconces.
They bear a simple heraldic motif to the base which is worn. Loaded, numbered with scratch weight 127 = 9 1/2. It weighs 1011 grams.

Beautiful silver candlestick made by Sheffield silversmith Willian Allanson and hallmarked in Sheffield in 1851. With scalloped and spreading shaped circular base, chasing and repousse work with rocaille patterns and vines on a fluted stems and a leaf-wrapped flower-form sconce.
They bear a simple heraldic motif to the base which is worn. Loaded, numbered with scratch weight 127 = 9 1/2.The candlestick is 27.5 cms high.
Condition: Fair antique condition commensurate with age and usage. Some small areas of wear on the repousee high relief areas from over polishing.
